How to Get There

The following airlines provide service to Belize: American Airlines, United/Continental, Delta, TACA, and US Airways. International flights to Belize are through Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, Miami and Los Angeles.  You can then either rent a car from Belize city and take the most amazing 3.5 hour drive down the hummingbird highway or you can take a 25 minute puddle jumper on Maya Air or Tropic Air. If you choose that option, you can arrange to have a golf cart waiting for you in the driveway!

Once  you arrive into Belize City International airport, you will need to go through customs. It is a small and easy to navigate airport so no stress is involved. There are several options to get yourself to Placencia.

The quickest option is to book a flight on Maya air. This is a 25 minute, very scenic flight that takes you over the islands and beaches into the Placencia airport. Depending on who is on your flight, it may stop in one of the other small villages so be sure the airport says Placencia before you exit the airplane. We will provide you with free transportation from the Placencia Airstrip.  Just let us know when your plane is scheduled to arrive and we will have a ride waiting for you. We recommend renting a golf cart from Captain Jaks at to have waiting for you at the villa. If you have more time and wish to see more of the countryside, you can rent a car at the Belize City airport and drive through the mountains to Placencia. It is about a 3.5 hour drive and we recommend you do not drive the Hummingbird Highway at night. Although there is very little traffic on any of the roads in Belize, it can be tricky at night.
